Coaches Comments – Coach McGaitlin
First hour weight lifting is doing Maxes. Kids are doing awesome. This is the strongest team. Kids are getting excited for each other and bonding. The kids are doing great.
The Calendars have been distributed. The schedule is longer than normal. The players may miss some activities due to vacations. We will be playing a scrimmage at the end of camp with Pomona and Highlands Ranch under the lights. We will be scrimmaging at Ft. Collins sometime in August. Also, we will be traveling to Grand Junction in September.

Field Maintenance
Coordinate with Building Maintenance
Fanwear –
Fanwear is not as profitable as it used to be since the school store began selling Chatfield Football gear online. We need to contact the school administration and ask them not to sell items in the school store.

Big Idea
o Kick off the summer program.
o Include Alumni & current players
o Dinner
o Reach out to younger players in South Jeffco League: have players put together a putting camp.
o Mix up tables at the dinner with current players, Alumni players and future players.
o Announce 1st Hall of Fame candidate at the dinner.
o Reach out to Alumni players to get groups together.
o The goal is to have 144 golfers
o This year we are using new media – There is a Chatfield football facebook page and there is a blog on the website: chatfieldfootballinvitational.com
o The theme for the golf tournament is Past/Present/Future Chargers.
o The last couple of years we had a major sponsor. This year we want a family event with dinner to include people who don’t golf. Goal is to raise $10,000+.
o Sponsorship will cost less than in the past. Hole Sponsorship - $200.
o Golf costs $125 per player and includes dinner. Dinner only - $20.

President Comments – Jim Saddoris
We are looking at incorporating new technology like Facebook to communicate blackout, whiteout, and fundraising.
The schedule is coming out soon.
There will be a 10 day camp with 1 scrimmage the 1st week of June. Coach is still trying to find a team to scrimmage.
The weight room needs a makeover; some weights have cracks.
Coach would also like to have a Hall of Fame of Alumni Players in the weight room

Brainstorming/Open Discussion
Golf Tournament – John Norris
The goal is to have the community involved with the golf tournament. Include players, alumni and little league teams.
In the past the golf tournament always had a major sponsor.
The plan is to attract more golfers, have less expensive golf and have a reunion of alumni players.
Looking at having a Chatfield Football Hall of Fame
o There will be a criteria established and will continue year to year.
Future goal is to have tournaments in the morning and afternoon.
The date is set for June 7th.
Peaches – Jen Moss
Considering doing 2 sales: one early summer and one late summer.
Merchandising/Fanwear
Sold some Fanwear at Freshman Orientation.
We could consider requiring parents to sell Fanwear since it is such a big job.
Other Fundraising Ideas
Garlic Knot Night
Go Nation – Parents would shuttle cars to Pepsi Center for their car sale.
Kohl’s
Some companies offer their employees cash for their charity of choice when they volunteer their time. Sandy McGee has been nominated for a volunteer award by Qwest Communications.
Recruitment/Parent Involvement – John & Kriss Norris
Make phone calls and ask parents when volunteers are needed.

News from Coach - Coach McGaitlin
The Schedule will be out soon. There has been a league alignment for next year. Coach went to CHASSA to try to put Lakewood back in our league and put Mullen back in Centennial. Mullen, Heritage, Columbine, Bear Creek and Arapahoe are all in out league. Non League games will include ThunderRidge, Grand Junction Central, Ralston Valley and Fountain. We will be traveling to Grand Junction and may plan an overnight trip.
This summer we are planning our own Football Camp the first two weeks in June. There will be more information available in the middle of February. This will allow the coaches to have more control and be able to teach. We will be able to accomplish more and save parents money. Players can still attend college camps on their own.
